Trump dit weekend 'teleurgesteld in Rusland, houdt me aan het lijntje'. Poetin vandaag: wapenstilstand van drie dagen

Twee dagen geleden met afstand Trumps meest kritische bericht richting Poetin, toen hij op Truth Social schreef: "With all of that being said, there was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days. It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, _and has to be dealt with differently, through “Banking” or “Secondary Sanctions?_” Meteen daarna plaatste hij de onderstaande foto's van zijn ontmoeting met Zelensky in het Vaticaan, waarover hij bij thuiskomst zei: "It was a good meeting, a nice meeting, a beautiful meeting let me tell you, it's the nicest office that I've ever seen. (...) He wants to do something good for his country, I think he's doing a good job. He's working hard, let's see what happens, it's a very complicated deal."

Dat is voor Trumpiaanse begrippen een bloemlezing, en al helemaal na de eerdere wrijvingen. Daarna richtte hij zich nogmaals tot Poetin en zei: "I want to see what happens with respect to Russia. I'm very dissapointed that they did the bombing of those places," verwijzend naar deze Russische aanvallen op Kiev vorige week. Ook zei hij dat hij "over twee weken pas kan zeggen" of hij Poetin vertrouwt. Wie had dat aan zien komen: dat Zelensky toch weer in betere sier komt bij Trump dan Poetin.

UPDATE - Zelensky verwerpt Poetins aanbod voor een staakt-het-vuren: “We value lives, not parades. A real ceasefire must start immediately & last at least 30 days — not just pause killing for a few days”
