Bovenstaand: interessante short van de Financial Times over vaccine economics

Volgens CNN wordt vandaag aangekondigd dat vaccinaties verplicht zijn voor alle medewerkers en contractors van de Amerikaanse federale overheid - de postbodes zijn alvast tegen. Staatskrant Washington Post was ook al overstag. En nu meldt het Amerikaanse triumviraat Google-Facebook-Netflix dat ook hun personeelsbestand eraan moet geloven.

Google schuift de heropening van hun kantoren van 1 september naar 18 oktober. CEO Sundar Pichai "disclosed that once offices are fully reopened, everyone working there will have to be vaccinated. The requirement will be first imposed at Google’s Mountain View headquarters and other U.S. offices before being extended to the more than 40 other countries where the Google operates. (...)The vaccine mandate will be adjusted to adhere to the laws and regulators of each location, Pichai wrote, and exceptions will be made for medical and other “protected” reasons." Google heeft 139.995 werknemers.

Facebook vicepresident HR Lori Goler liet gister in een verklaring weten dat "As our offices reopen, we will be requiring anyone coming to work at any of our US campuses to be vaccinated. How we implement this policy will depend on local conditions and regulations. (...) The company will continue to evaluate its approach outside the U.S., Goler added." Facebook heeft 60.654 werknemers.

Netflix wordt de eerste grote Hollywood-studio "to implement a blanket policy mandating vaccinations for the casts of all of its U.S. productions, as well as those who come into contact with them on set," schreef Deadline gisteren. Bedankt, Sean Penn.

En dus zomaar, van de een op de andere dag, maakten de duopolie op informatie-distributie en de grootste cultuurvormer in de Westerse wereld vaccinaties dus verplicht voor hun personeel. Enorm benieuwd of en hoe dat de informatie-distributie en cultuurvorming rondom (verkapte) vaccinatieverplichtingen zal beïnvloeden.
